Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, active member of the American Academy of Osseointegration (AO), the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) and the Italian Society of Periodontology and Implantology (SIdP) and an active member of Italian Society of Oral Surgery and Implantology (SICOI). PERIODONTOLOGY
Periodontology is the specialty involved in the diagnosis and treatment of gingival disease. Gingival disease includes a group of inflammatory diseases caused by bacteria that can damage the gengival tissues superficially (gingivitis) or, in more serious cases, cause advanced bone and ligament distruction (periodontitis), thereby placing the tooth or teeth, at a greater risk for tooth loss. In the presence of these diseases the gums may appear swollen, red and may bleed upon brushing. Bad breath is usually a sympton also related to gengival disease.
IMPLANT DENTISTRY
The surgical discipline that utilizes titanium screws (osseointegrated implants) making it possible to restore lost teeth. The use of state of the art technology and specialized training, honed over 15 years of dedication, allows for highly accurate positioning and precise control of each implant. Modern surgical placement techniques and eventual innovative reconstruction of damaged bone and soft tissues, allows for the resolution of even the most complex cases.
